Being
open and vulnerable is one of the strongest attributes someone can have, I feel.
Many see being vulnerable as being weak, but it is nothing of the sort. Only
the strongest people have the ability to be vulnerable in front of others and
truly say how they feel or be who they are. A lot of people tend to hide their
true feelings and Self behind their ego in fear of what other’s may think or
say. They’d rather play it safe and say something that would be pleasing to
others ears instead of their own or hide their feelings all together and never
tell anyone how they truly feel.
When
you feel yourself closing off, and hiding a part of you, ask yourself what you
are afraid of? Confront your fears head on and see where the fear came from in
the first place. We as humans, carry a lot of fear within us because of many
different forms of conditioning, like the way we were raised, society, media, etc. We are programmed to believe that not everything will go perfectly and that’s it’s
better to “play it safe” just in case something bad will happen. We don’t
believe it’s as easy as it truly is for miracles to happen and for dreams to
come true. What we do not understand is that if something doesn't go the way
you wanted it to or your fears come true, it’s because your thought patterns
about the situation made it that way. Everything in the universe and your life
is already perfect. Everything is already destined and designed to flow
perfectly. The only thing that can alter your path to “negative” events is your
thought patterns.
When
you truly embrace yourself and become vulnerable and open, you will realize that
there is truly nothing to fear. Yes, at first you may still be confronted by
those mirrors showing you your fears but once you face them what else do you
have to lose? Imagine how amazing you
will start to feel when there is nothing blocking your true happiness and
self-expression. Once you fall in love with the part of yourself that is open,
honest and pure, so will others. Why? Because your thoughts are pure and loving
about yourself and you don’t have fear of what others may think, so others will
mirror that back to you.
After posting my blog many people have asked “Aren't you afraid?” Or, “I didn't know if you wanted me to look at it.” What do I have to be afraid about? Showing who I truly am and writing about the things I am passionate about? A lot of people are afraid to shake things up and question belief systems that have been in foundation for a very long time. They don’t want to come across as weird, or crazy. But the fearless ones, the ones who are going to change this world… aren't afraid to show their soul to the world.
